newleaf is a browser extension that replaces your new tab page with a clean dashboard showing the date, time, and your favorite links. This policy explains what data newleaf handles and what it does not.
The short version: newleaf has no servers and no accounts, and we do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything you configure stays in your own browser, and the extension makes no network requests at all.
What we collect
Nothing. newleaf has no backend, no analytics, no tracking, no cookies set by us, and no user accounts. We never see your data, because it never reaches us.
Data stored on your device
The following is saved locally in your browser's
localStorage and never leaves your device or gets sent to
us:
- Your quick links — the labels and URLs you add, plus each link's badge color and the date it was added.
- Your settings — such as 12/24-hour time, date format, link ordering, and which dashboard elements are shown.
This data lives only in the browser profile where you use newleaf. You can erase all of it at any time by removing the extension or clearing your browser's site data for the new tab page.
Third-party requests
None. newleaf makes no network requests. It does not use any third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics providers. The background images and fonts are bundled inside the extension and are not fetched from any external source.
Permissions
newleaf requests no browser permissions. It only overrides the new tab page.
Children's privacy
newleaf does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at the same location.
